Penn students involved in community work are welcomed to join student leaders in a reflective dialogue surrounding university community engagement. Students will discuss the role of community engagement in the university with West Philadelphia/Philadelphia, and reflect and share about their own experiences working in the community.

Goals of this Dialogue:

Participants will be able to…

  • reflect on the purposes behind the university and how it is tied to the West Philadelphia/Philadelphia area.
  • connect with other students involved in the community, talk about their different work, and reflect on different community engagement methods being used across campus.
  • reflect on their own work and how it relates to Penn as a whole.
  • reflect on their role in the Penn and West Philadelphia community and their relationship with identifying themselves as related to those two communities.
  • discuss future steps in increasing collective agency among engaged students to strengthen Penn-West Philadelphia/Philadelphia relationships.

FREE FOOD will be provided for participants.
