Ava Barish is a senior in the College, studying Philosophy and Computer Science. She is from Denver, Colorado. On campus, she is a member and president of Penn’s Women’s Club Ultimate Frisbee team, Venus, and tutors for the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. On the Paideia Student Advisory Board, Ava is a representative for Civic House. Ava was inspired to join the student advisory board to help offer perspective on the Paideia program from a student outside of it. She is passionate about education, and was interested to understand Paideia’s unique approach to education in focusing on the whole person. Additionally, Ava values getting to be part of such a unique and interesting group of students, and learning more about the work Paideia does.
