Elo is a first-year student in the School of Engineering and Applied Science majoring in Computer Science with a dual minor in Mathematics and French. Having lived in the United Kingdom, Nigeria, and the United States, she looks forward to engaging in diverse, interdisciplinary conversations within the Paideia community. Elo is particularly interested in the societal impacts of artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on bias in AI systems and large language models. She has been actively involved in nonprofit organizations that work to increase AI literacy among underrepresented communities. She is also passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and human rights, contributing to research on data ethics and equality at Perry World House.
Beyond her academic and research interests, Elo is committed to fostering dialogue. As an Opinion Columnist for The Daily Pennsylvanian, she brings an international perspective to pressing national and campus issues, encouraging critical discussions on policy, technology, and social justice.
Through the SNF Paideia Fellowship, Elo is excited to further examine AI bias and data ethics while engaging with peers with diverse backgrounds. She hopes to apply these discussions to her research on equity in AI and policy.
