A lifelong Philadelphia resident, Ethan Young is passionate about politics, civic engagement, and journalism—and the intersection of all three.
Through the SNF Paideia program, Ethan hopes to engage in conversations with fellow students and faculty from diverse academic backgrounds and interests. He aims to use the skills learned from the Fellowship as he works to make political systems more accessible to a wider range of demographics. Building on work related to food justice from his high school years, Ethan sees the SNF Paideia program as a unique opportunity to complement his interest in food justice with his Political Science major in the College of Arts and Sciences.
At Penn, Ethan contributes as a writer and photographer for The Daily Pennsylvanian, shedding light on the inner workings of campus administration and highlighting unique perspectives across the University. He also serves as the team photographer for the Penn Men’s Basketball Team and volunteers with the Netter Center Food Education Program at Lea Elementary School.
