Jessey Shin has lived in South Korea (where they were born), Romania, and now the U.S.—the kicker is that they don’t enjoy traveling very much.
They spend a lot of time writing blog posts, working on columns, and journaling. They see writing as a restorative practice, holding space for identities and experiences that may not be well-represented elsewhere.
Jessey has long been involved in online communities for disabled and LGBTQ+ folk. They are interested in utilizing social media for grassroots activism and community building. They are pursuing a major in communication and sociology in the College of Arts & Sciences. As a Fellow, they are interested in accessible design, representation, and inclusive dialogue. They aspire to facilitate meaningful and equitable political conversations.
