Lucas Hudson

College of Arts and Sciences

Lucas Hudson is a freshman currently undecided in the College interested in exploring holistic healthcare innovation. He first developed these interests through educational and internship experiences at the Centers for Disease Control, where he learned mainstay principles of public health and preventative medicine while the United States faced tough questions about the efficacy and ethics of its healthcare system in the context of a once-in-a-century pandemic. Combined with an internship experience at CNN, he is also interested in exploring communication and marketing in healthcare spaces.

Through SNF Paideia courses like Designing to Care: Improving Health and Wellness and Mindfulness and Human Development, Lucas hopes to explore ways to systematically include  preventive and integrative medicine in the American healthcare system, while also studying how these changes impact healthcare practices, economics, and communications. He strives to take what he learns in the classroom and apply it through professional experiences, like the VIP Practicum program at Venture Lab. Outside of healthcare, Lucas also hopes to complete a Spanish certificate and is involved with Under the Button and DJ@Penn. Through the SNF Paideia program, Lucas hopes to learn from the principles of wellness, service, and citizenship to better discover himself and how to make meaningful impacts as a leader in the healthcare industry.
