Nainika Dinesh

Nainika Dinesh is a third year PhD student in the History department at Penn. In her research, Dinesh explores the links between patterns of rural landowning and the expansion of formal education in colonial India.

The graduate book club organized by SNF Paideia has been a source of community and friendship for Dinesh at Penn. She has enjoyed building connections with individuals at Penn across disciplines and has had meaningful conversations about books. This experience inspired her to apply to the SNF Paideia Graduate Fellowship.

Further, Dinesh is constantly thinking about education and connection across differences through her research and wanted to practice these research ideals. From the fellowship, she hopes to build more community and contribute to conversations about dialogue across differences. She is deeply invested in building spaces of community at educational institutions.
