Paris Ye discovered the power of civic engagement while running her local Student Member of the Board Election. Motivated by the disparate educational opportunities she noticed by attending schools across her county, she organized events to increase student voter engagement and empower all students regardless of where they live. Through engaging in dialogue from diverse students across the county, she realized her ability and responsibility to elevate disempowered voices in every space she’s in.
Tough dialogue was central to her growth as an activist and person, so she is pursuing this at Penn through the SNF Paideia fellowship. Paris sees the fellowship as an opportunity to engage in differing unique perspectives that she can’t find in her Wharton curriculum. When the diversity of Penn is not a statistic, but a group that she builds deep belonging with over three years together, she’ll grow her passion for Penn.
Paris is concentrating in Environmental Social Governance Factors for Business and Management. She plans to use the skills that she cultivates in her education and in this fellowship in her future career while combining social impact and business.
