Tanisha Agrawal

International Relations, Cognitive Science/ Modern Middle Eastern Studies
Paoli, PA and Mumbai, India

Tanisha is a student with a strong interest in International Relations and Cognitive Science, though her curiosity extends far beyond. She’s passionate about peace negotiations, conflict resolution, counterintelligence, diplomacy, and interrogation strategies, focusing on how human cognition shapes decision-making in high-stakes situations.

She loves learning new languages and immersing herself in different cultures. While she comes from a South Asian background, she has recently developed a deep interest in the Middle East and is learning Arabic. After traveling to Egypt, she hopes to visit Jordan, Oman, and Dubai to further explore the region’s politics, history, and culture.

As a University Scholar, her research examines successful peace processes, negotiation strategies, and data-driven policy. She studies how lessons from the Good Friday Agreement could apply to conflicts in Gaza, Syria, and Yemen. Now, as an SNF Paideia Fellow, she is very excited to integrate dialogue and wellness into her approach to conflict resolution and diplomacy.

As a reporter for The Daily Pennsylvanian, Tanisha covered high-profile speakers such as Malcolm Gladwell, Mark Cuban, and India’s Finance Minister. She is also a member of the Undergraduate Assembly, Wharton Undergraduate Public Policy, Penn Traditions and a researcher at PDRI-DevLab. When she’s not working at the front desk of the Fisher Fine Arts Library—where she enjoys the view as much as the job—she spends her time collecting coins, painting, exploring horticulture, and going on deep dives through Wikipedia.
