Christopher Yoo

John H. Chestnut Professor of Law, Communication, and Computer & Information Science; Director, Center for Technology, Innovation & Competition

Christopher Yoo has a deep commitment to interdisciplinary education, holding faculty appointments in three schools at Penn: the Carey Law School, the Annenberg School for Communication, and the School for Engineering and Applied Science. He is co-teaching a Paideia course and is pioneering innovative joint degree programs designed to produce a new generation of professionals with advanced training in both law and engineering. He also has a deep commitment to civic engagement, having been appointed as a Member of the Federal Communications Commission’s Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee, Consultant to the Administrative Conference of the U.S., and Penn’s Designated Representative for the Public Internet Technology University Network, an initiative to encourage technologists to become more involved in policymaking. He also testifies frequently before Congress, federal agencies, foreign governments, and international organizations.
