Ghaida Tagalasfia

College of Arts and Sciences, Pre-Law
Denver, Colorado

Ghaida Tagalasfia is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences, where she is on the pre-law track. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she is deeply shaped by her Sudanese heritage—a culture known for its warmth, generosity, and love of dialogue. From a young age, she developed a strong voice in a community where conversation was not just encouraged, but essential.

Ghaida’s identity is grounded in a belief that collective care is fundamental: when one part of the body hurts, the whole body responds. Inspired by the resilience of the women in her family and the unwavering support of her parents, she is driven by a deep commitment to justice and service. She finds purpose in uplifting others—whether through small, thoughtful gestures or more sustained efforts within communities she belongs to, like Penn’s Muslim Student Association.

Through the SNF Paideia Fellowship Program, she looks forward to engaging in dialogue that centers empathy, connection, and belonging. She hopes to contribute to and learn from a community of thoughtful individuals committed to fostering understanding and creating spaces where everyone feels truly seen.
