Vicky Wang

Nursing, Nutrition

Vicky is a student in the School of Nursing, also pursuing a second major in Nutrition. She is passionate about integrating clinical care with public service, wellness, and equity, particularly in the pediatric and neonatal field.

Originally from New York City, Vicky grew up exploring the cultural gems of all five boroughs with her friends and family — from amusement parks to new restaurants. Her creative spirit shines through personal hobbies like painting, styling, and interior decorating, which serve as outlets for self-expression and reflection. Vicky’s deep appreciation for creativity and connection echoes her values in balance, care, and meaningful relationships.

At Penn, Vicky is an active member of the Asian Pacific American Nursing Student Association, where she draws strength from a community grounded in empathy, shared experience, and mutual support. She also serves as a committee member for Penn Common Cents, where she organizes engaging events that bring members closer together while promoting personal finance education. Additionally, she is involved in civic advocacy through her work with Zero Waste Schools NY, an environmental non-profit organization where she led sustainability education efforts and contributed to policy reform initiatives. While Vicky’s academic journey includes rigorous STEM coursework, she remains deeply engaged with broader civic issues — having previously conducted research on plea bargaining and mass incarceration in the U.S. justice system.

Through the SNF Paideia Fellows program, Vicky hopes to bridge her love of dialogue and service with her healthcare studies, gaining tools to better advocate for patients and communities alike.
