Management and Social Impact
The Villages, FL

As the world continues to present us with new challenges, people will need likewise to adapt their definition of what it looks like to be a global citizen. Derek is curious about how to respond to the challenges of the particular moment and how to implement necessary changes in ways that incorporate the tools of service and dialogue. By trying to understand the shifting global landscape, he will be better able to multiply his positive impact on individuals and communities.

Derek currently serves the Governor for the Pennsylvania District of Circle K International (CKI). CKI is the world’s largest collegiate student-led service organization, with tenets rooted in service, leadership, and fellowship. He helps coordinate and leads service initiatives across the state. He is primarily focused on education, empowerment, and the environment. The alignment of his values with the SNF Paideia Program inspired him to apply to the Fellows program.

As a Wharton student intending to concentrate in Management and Social Impact, the SNF Paideia Fellows program optimally complements his studies. He is curious about the intersection of the world of business, social impact, and civic engagement, and how to leverage all aspects to create a better world for all. Not only does the Fellows program allow him to learn more, but also to practice what he learns and further engage with the Penn community in a meaningful way.
